Lauren James Planner Review

Friday, November 11, 2016

 Hey y'all and Happy Friday!

Today I'm doing a little review on Lauren James' 17-month planner. If you're planner obsessed like me and don't know how to choose from all the options out there, I hope I can give you a little more clarity on if this is the right one for you! This could also be a great Christmas present idea for someone on your list.

Since my planner is basically my life map, I look at a few different factors when planning to purchase one. Below, I'm breaking down how the Lauren James planner compares.

1) Aesthetics: If you couldn't already tell from the photos above, this planner is so. stinkin. cute. (Click here to go to the product page and see more images.) It definitely has a Southern/preppy/girly feel to it. My personal favorite aspect is the cute illustration for each month; like how cute are those American flag print bows on the July 2017 page??

2) Cost: The planner is only $20, compared to the popular Lily Pulitzer planners that are about $30-35 for this size. So, I think this is a good bang for your buck. (Bonus Tip: if you sign up for the LJ newsletter, you can receive 10% off your first order.)

3) Organization: For me, it is super important that a planner has an overall month calendar, as well as a week-by-week break down. In the past, I used my "month" calendar to track my workout routine when I did pageants. Now, I use it for my blog editorial calendar. On the "week" pages, I write down things like appointments, meetings, social events, and homework assignments. This planner has both (yay!). The week pages are even broken down into morning, afternoon, and night sections.

4) Bonus Features: This planner has 3 pages of stickers in the back - and don't act like you're too old to think stickers are cool! (My only concern is why there are 7 "bid day" stickers, haha. Most sororities only have 2 a year.) There's also a handy little "to-do" list to the right of each month calendar.

I hope this gave more insight into if this is the planner for you, but feel free to ask me any more questions you may have! Let me know which planner that y'all use in the comments below, I would love to hear!

Hope you guys have a great weekend!
Xo, Karli
